Ovulation in a 32-day cycle: day 18
A 32-day cycle puts ovulation around day 18 — four days after the textbook day 14.
This matters for pregnancy dating: if you conceive, a due date calculated from your last period may be four days too early until an early scan corrects it, which is why our calculators let you enter your cycle length.
Ovulation is usually about 14 days before the next period, so in a 32-day cycle it falls on day 18 — 4 days later than in a 28-day cycle. A 32-day cycle is within the usual adult range of about 21–35 days.
Your 32-day cycle, phase by phase
| Phase | Cycle days |
|---|---|
| Period (typical) | Days 1–5 |
| Follicular phase | Days 1–17 (17 days) |
| Fertile window | Days 13–19, best on days 16–18 |
| Ovulation | Day 18 |
| Luteal phase | Days 19–32 (14 days) |
Start LH ovulation tests around day 15; a positive result on day 16 or 17 points to ovulation on day 18.
If your cycle is sometimes 30 or 34 days
Few cycles are identical every month. If yours ranges between 30 and 34 days, ovulation could fall anywhere from day 16 to day 20, which widens your possible fertile days to days 11 to 21. Base the start of ovulation testing on your shortest recent cycle (day 13), and expect your period between day 31 and day 35.
| Cycle length | Ovulation | Fertile window |
|---|---|---|
| 30 days | Day 16 | Days 11–17 |
| 31 days | Day 17 | Days 12–18 |
| 32 days | Day 18 | Days 13–19 |
| 33 days | Day 19 | Days 14–20 |
| 34 days | Day 20 | Days 15–21 |
